Apple says handoff calls works in i OS 8 too but for good measure, we think it's best to be on i OS 8.1. Now, you've setup the system to make/receive calls on/from your Mac.4.Now that you've enabled i Phone Cellular calls on your i Phone, it's time to setup your Mac to receive (and make) calls from your i Phone.3. Receiving Calls on Mac One of the first things you can try is to see if your Mac gets calls when someone rings your i Phone. There are some more options: you can click on the arrow mark next to Decline to decline and send a message to the caller. Making Calls on Mac Making a call from your Mac (that is routed through your i Phone) is also relatively simple. Preventing Calls On Too Many Devices When you have an i Phone, an i Pad and a Mac connected to the same network, with the same i Cloud ID, and with Continuity enabled on all, one interesting scenario can happen: when you get a call on the i Phone, all your devices start ringing/pinging!Depending on what you actually want, this can be an annoyance. But to do all that, you will need to setup the Continuity calling feature on your devices.First off, you have to enable cellular calls to be passed on to your Mac.I assume (all though I haven't tried it) that if both phones are enabled in this way, Face Time on i Pad or Mac gives you the choice of which phone/number to use.It wasn't giving me a choice earlier because there was only one phone enabled.

What I see on the i Phone 4s is a black screen with a "Connecting" message. I started Facetime and went to preferences to Signout from my old Apple ID. It took several attempts to establish a Face Time connection. I've recently upgraded my Mac Book Pro to mac OS High Sierra Version 10.13. Yesterday we chatted on Face Time and I snapped a few photos using Face Time's new Live Photo feature. My i Message and Face Time suddenly stopped working with my Apple ID on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.9.5) during my vacation at NYC.It's the same i Cloud account that's configured on the i Pad (and on my Mac).In the settings for Face Time both on i Pad and on the Mac, under the heading i Phone Cellular Calls it says These calls will use the caller ID xxx xxx xxx xxx, and the number is my wife's cell phone number, not mine.Setting up Calls on Mac On your Mac:• Open Facetime. All you need to do is call your number from some other phone, and if you’ve setup correctly, your Mac should show a notification of the incoming call.

Again, at the risk of repeating myself, make sure your i Phone and your Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and are signed in to the same i Cloud account. There's Handoff for apps, SMS Relay (coming up in i OS 8.1) and Family Sharing to begin with.
